Volkswagen Arteon – A Coupe Worth Driving

July 12th, 2022 by

Quickly look at any city, and you’ll realize that the preferred automobile for car owners would still be SUVs. However, executive saloon cars are not far behind and remain popular with buyers.

The Arteon is the German brand’s most executive model. With a sleek look and impressive levels of roominess, the Arteon certainly holds its own in this field. Here are a few things you need to know about it.

Sleek Design Language

The striking design of the 2021 model of the Arteon has continued to this 2022 version. Like its predecessor, the engineers at Volkswagen are banking that this sleek coupe will continue to turn heads when this car is on the open road. We admire the striking front end with a chrome-wrapped grille with a neat Volkswagen logo embossed in the middle, LED headlights with LED DRLs, and the aerodynamic hood design.

Spacious Cabin and Trunk

The 2022 Volkswagen Arteon has a generous cabin that can easily accommodate five passengers and their luggage. The leather upholstery on the SEL and SEL Premium trims feels luxurious and plush. The seats offer maximum comfort and excellent all-around support for the passengers.

Our personal favorite is the headroom and legroom of the 2022 Arteon. They turned out to be one of the best of the segment for both the front and rear-seat passengers. As for the storage, the trunk has a capacity of 27.2 cu ft – one of the largest in its segment. If that is not enough, there are additional spaces on the side bulkhead storage in the trunk. Multiple hooks provide help in securing the luggage.

Just What You Would Expect from a Car

Being A full-size sedan, the 2022 Volkswagen Arteon holds its own in terms of overall build quality. The car comes constructed in high-tensile steel, which shows the moment you press hard against the exterior panels.

The braking hardware of the 2022 Arteon is as effective as those of the previous models. This sedan can go to 70-0 MPH with a braking distance of 176 feet. We loved the firm brake pedal feel with an impressive initial bite on offer.

There are no lags or stutters reported in any version of the 2022 Arteon 8″ touchscreen infotainment system. Overall, we think the system would be better with more buttons or knobs, yet it is well laid out and highly configurable.

Offered for a base MSRP of $40,750, the 2022 Arteon is one of the best executive saloon cars on the market today. Along with the smooth ride expected from a Volkswagen, you’ll also get the best technology and safety measures you need in an automobile and much more.
